Apart from the german, english and spanish version, there now is a french version of BlogDesk. The language for user interface and help can be switched in the options.

The new BlogDesk 2.8 now supports special WordPress features introduced by the latest WordPress version:

  • Support for WordPress-Tags (if using WordPress 2.5).
  • Support for Custom Fields (if using WordPress 2.5).
  • Articles can be protected with a password (if using WordPress 2.5).
  • JPEG-Qualitiy can be set in the ImageWizard.

BlogDesk 2.7 released

This new version of BlogDesk (2.7) offers the following new features and enhancements:

  • The SmartUpload makes it easier to upload files when working with media plugins (like Embedded Video for WordPress).
  • BlogDesk can be shown in the SystemTray.
  • Categories can be sorted.
  • Character Count displayed while typing.
  • No quality loss when saving JPEG images.
  • Several bugs (e.g. when removing thumbnails or when editing posts already published) and inconsistencies removed.

BlogDesk Hotfix released (2.6.500)

Apparently WordPress.com changed their code so that new articles posted with BlogDesk always had their comments & pings set to Off. The Hotfix solved this problem. After installation, open your blog properties for every blog hosted on wordpress.com and change the value in the System dropdown from WordPress to WordPress.com.

BlogDesk 2.6 released

The new BlogDesk version (2.6.200) comes with the following enhancements:

  • Posts already published can be edited and deleted from the server.
  • The Open Post dialog now distinguishs between Drafts, Templates and Published posts and offers a preview.
  • The AutoSave option will periodicaly save the current post.
  • The popup menu in the list of blogs offers the most relevant commands.
  • Extensive HTML-Code (like you may get it from YouTube and comparable sites) can be easily inserted.
  • Support for the blog systems MovableType, Drupal, Blojsom, dasBlog and Serendipity.
  • Apart from the german and english version there is now a spanish version. The language for user interface and help can be switched in the options.
  • Several bugs and inconsistencies removed.

BlogDesk 2.1 released

This new update for the weblog client BlogDesk now supports DirectUpload of images and other files, an additional FTP access is not needed anymore (perfect for your blog here at WordPress.com). But even the classic WordPress blog with FTP access will profit from this new method because it’s much easier to configure.

New BlogDesk Beta (Build 300)

There is a new beta version for the weblog client BlogDesk. Lots of improvements, but above all: the Image Wizard. Now you can do simple image editing (resize, crop, rotate, shadow etc.) and easily create thumbnails.

A new update is available for the weblog client BlogDesk. Apart from WordPress, BlogDesk now supports the blogsystem ExpressionEngine and the bloghoster Blogg.de and Twoday.net.
